The 5G Techritory :: Dienas Bizness forum will start in Riga

The European 5G Ecosystem Forum “5G Techritory” will start in Riga today, bringing together leading experts and practitioners from all over the world, informs the representative of the forum Krista Lubiņa.

The aim of the forum is to discuss the most topical issues related to the implementation of 5G, to set the political and strategic agenda for the next decade.

The forum will run until November 25. The forum will be opened at 9 am by Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Artūrs Toms Plešs (AP), Director General of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) Kaspars Rožkalns and Chairman of the Board of SJSC “Electronic Communications” Jānis Bārda.

Today, the forum will host a “Technology Day” dedicated to 5G technologies with in-depth discussions on various technology solutions, use case analyzes, technology demonstrations and other discussions.

Meanwhile, the World Day will take place on November 23, where 5G leaders will present their approach to 5G deployment and use. The “Forum Day” on November 24 will be the main event day with speeches from leading international experts and panel discussions on topical 5G issues.

November 25 – “Event Day” – is dedicated to a wider audience, from technology enthusiasts and innovators to visionaries and politicians.

Plesch notes that the European Union is preparing for the digital decade and has set very ambitious goals for digital transformation by 2030. 5G will be one of the key cornerstones of the digital economy in the next decade and will serve as a basis for the entry of new technologies and digital products into everyday life.

“Along with 5G Techritory, Latvia promotes dialogue and recognizes the common goals of the European Union towards digital development, as well as expresses a clear readiness to become a significant leader among European and world countries in promoting the growth of digital transformation,” emphasizes Plešs.

Bārda notes that in the first two years the forum became an internationally recognized 5G event, bringing together ministers and opinion leaders from around the world.

“5G Techritory” is organized by “Electronic Communications” in cooperation with LIAA and mobile operator “Latvijas mobilais telefons”.

The forum brings together opinion leaders, corporate leaders, academics and policy makers from around the world. The 2020 Forum was attended by more than 2,050 participants from 107 countries and 202 high-level speakers from 32 countries.
