A disruption of Atlantic origin will tend to position itself between Tunisia and the Strait of Sicily, causing bad weather conditions on Sicily, in particular on the western and southern sectors, as well as on Pantelleria and on the Pelagian islands. As for the Island, the provinces concerned will be mainly those of Trapani, that of Agrigento and a part of that of Palermo.
On the basis of the forecasts available, the Civil Protection Department in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for the activation of civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic problems that are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin available on the Department's website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The notice includes the early hours of tomorrow, precipitation, also in reverse or temporal character, on Sicily, in particular on the western and southern sectors.
The phenomena will be accompanied by showers of strong intensity, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, an orange alert on north-western Sicily was evaluated for tomorrow's day; also assessed an orange alert for the floods of the Po on the south-western area of Veneto and on the central-eastern sectors of Emilia Romagna. Yellow alert, finally, on the north-western areas of Veneto, on the southern Ionian and Tyrrhenian slopes of Calabria, on the western sector of Emilia-Romagna, on the rest of Sicily.
