The transfer of John Brooks is official. The 29-year-old centre-back leaves Benfica and signs for Hoffenheim, a contract valid until June 2024.
Through a statement, Benfica confirms the transfer, on a permanent basis, of the player, who arrived at the Benfica club in September 2022 and participated in five meetings during the current season. «Benfica wishes John Brooks all the best for this new phase of his career», it can be read.
Hoffenheim, on the other hand, publishes the defender’s statements on their official website: “I’m really looking forward to returning to the Bundesliga. I know the competition and Hoffenheim very well and I am highly motivated to start immediately and do my part to get back playing in the short term.”
Brooks has 216 Bundesliga appearances (12 goals), split between Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin.
