At just 15 years old, Endrick became one of the most popular names in Brazilian football. The forward was one of the highlights of Palmeiras in the triumphant walk to the conquest of Copinha, a junior football competition in Brazil.
The good performances, and the goals that made the stadium jump, led the Brazilian press to put the possibility that Abel Ferreira would take Endrick in the entourage for the Club World Cup, which is being played in February. The youngster could not play (he can only sign a professional contract at the age of 16), but his departure was ruled out by the Portuguese coach and the opinion was corroborated by the forward.
“All players dream of playing in a Club World Cup, so do I. But I keep calm, Abel Ferreira is super right”, he assumed, refusing to discuss plans for the future and a possible trip to Europe: “I’m focused on Palmeiras and I leave that to my managers”.
