THE BALL – Zaniolo on Mourinho: «He taught me to bite my tongue» (Roma)

Nicolò Zaniolo acknowledged that José Mourinho has been very important in his growth as a player at Roma.

“Mourinho is a winner. He taught me to be involved in the defensive aspects of the game and I know I have to improve in that area. I also had his help to better deal with some situations, such as being out of games. He taught me to bite my tongue. Be quiet on the pitch and work harder”, said the midfielder, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian international revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of his idols: “I fulfilled my dream of playing on the same pitch with Ibrahimovic. I didn’t talk to him, but I studied the way he plays, his movements and he’s a charismatic leader. »

Zaniolo did not speak directly with the Swedish striker: “I am too shy to approach. I admired him from afar. I am happy that Milan won the title.”
