The plane blew up at the airport after the hostages landed.

Britain’s Foreign Office has admitted that Parliament and the public have been misled for decades about a British Airways flight that landed in Kuwait during the 1990 Iraqi invasion.

The passengers and crew of Flight 149 were taken hostage, and many of them were ill-treated.

Files that have just become available reveal that the British ambassador to Kuwait warned the Foreign Office about the invasion, but that British Airways was not informed.

The government kept the warning a secret for three decades.
