The CGT supported Alberto Fernández in his management before the G20 and again criticized the businessmen

The Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, met with the co-head of the CGT Héctor Daer

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) deepened his activism this afternoon in favor of the government during the election campaign: supported Alberto Fernández in his negotiations with the G20 to guide negotiations with the IMF through “Fair terms and rates”, and returned to punish entrepreneurs, in tune with the official discourse: he considered that “They must assume the responsibility that falls to them and not hide behind the elusive chain of production” because “It is always the fault of others and the price increases are paid by the workers.”

Even so, the labor union seemed to distance itself from the ruling party when it warned that it is “Indisputable the generalized impoverishment of all wage earners due to inflation that tears the purchasing power of the employed, unemployed and retired workers ”and for this reason he demanded that “The Government must guarantee that employers comply with their obligations”

The CGT issued a press release after the meeting that Hector Daer (Health), one of its co-owners, maintained with the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, at the Casa Rosada, where, according to the official in his social networks, they discussed “The current needs of workers” and they articulated “guidelines to advance Argentine reconstruction.”

Daer keeps a close political and personal relationship with Manzur, who since his appointment has achieved to get better the link with the Government: this afternoon was the third meeting they have maintained since the President renewed his cabinet after the defeat of the Frente de Todos in the PASO.

In the statement, the CGT stressed that “The general impoverishment of all wage earners due to the effect of inflation that tears the purchasing power of employed, unemployed and retired workers is today indismutable, and its consequences on consumption and the domestic market they have reached unthinkable limits ”.

“Entrepreneurs must assume the responsibility that falls to them and not hide behind the elusive production chain -he pointed-. It is always the fault of others and the price increases are paid by the workers ”.

That is why the labor union affirmed that “The Government must guarantee that employers comply with their obligations: Four years of destruction of the productive apparatus, a party for financial speculation and unprecedented external indebtedness are added to two years of a pandemic that they have degraded the social fabric in such a way that today it is impossible to recognize our Argentina behind so much inequality ”.

Next, the statement emphasizes that the Government “performs a top-level management with the G20 representatives in order to achieve fair terms and rates that allow us to solve the external conditions that postpone the development of the country ”, after which he stated: “We accompany and decisively support the firm position of our President not to add new impediments or postponements to the repair of the social fabric.”

“We urge all social and political actors to accompany the demands of our people. The agreements must be reached bearing in mind the social consequences caused by irresponsible external indebtedness. We trust that world leaders, aware of the social inequalities that the pandemic has exposed, will accompany the request of our homeland ”, highlighted the CGT.

In the same line of the statement it was expressed 48 hours ago Carlos Acuna (service stations), the other co-owner of the CGT, after a meeting of the Board of Directors in which it was analyzed rising inflation and the Government’s strategy to curb rising prices.

For the trade unionist, “Entrepreneurs they always harm us ” because “They are the main responsible for the situation that workers are going through.” And highlighted that “It is good that they are getting stronger, but not at the cost of people’s hunger”.

Aligned with the gastronomic Luis Barrionuevo, Acuña recalled that “last year, in a pandemic, food products were constantly increasing and if we compare them with what they were worth in 2019 we will realize everything that increased, and now they continue to increase ”.
