The City of Guadalajara Orchestra and Choir Presents Mozart’s Requiem: A Masterpiece of Classical Music

The City of Guadalajara Orchestra and Choir will perform this coming Friday, June 2, at 8:00 p.m., at the Iglesia del Fuerte de San Francisco in Guadalajara, the well-known Mozart Requiem, the culminating work of the author, where his artistic talent and mastery of his craft as a composer. This is the last mass written by Mozart, who died in 1791, before finishing it, being his disciple Süssmayr who completed the instrumentation (according to the indications of Mozart’s score) and the missing parts. The Requiem marks one of the great masterpieces of classical music and Mozart’s position as one of the greatest musicians of all time.

The musical performance will be led by the director Elisa Gómez, who has a degree in Choir Direction and Orchestra Direction from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid. The solo quartet will be made up of soprano Celia Alcedo, mezzo Alexandra Barbieri, tenor José Darío Cano and Javier Agudo on bass, and the cast will be completed by the instrumentalists and singers of the Ciudad de Guadalajara Orchestra and Choir, a consolidated group that has been making music in our city and abroad since 2001.
