The building that collapsed on Thursday in Riga, Satekles Street 1C, entered the list of objects under the supervision of BVKB a month ago – in February of this year.
On February 13 of this year, the City Development Department of the Riga City Council made a mark in the construction permit issued to the object regarding the fulfillment of the conditions for starting construction works, thus handing it over to the supervision of BVKB.
The building was included in the list of objects to be inspected by BVKB in the near future, but the inspection had not yet been carried out.
BVKB, in cooperation with the certification institutions, will evaluate the adequacy and adequacy of the technical survey, the compliance of the construction project with the requirements of the regulatory acts and the activities performed by the participants of the construction process in the object within the scope of competence.
BVKB building inspectors work at the scene.
It has already been reported that an uninhabited five-story building collapsed on a construction site in the center of Riga on Thursday, and at least three cars are under the structures, but there is no information about the victims, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) informed.
The State Police has started criminal proceedings in connection with the incident.
