The report of the Competition Council on the existence of alleged anti-competitive practices on the fuel market has been dragging on for years, without any information on the progress, until recently when data was leaked in the press , causing controversy, the fact that the disclosure of information before the end of the investigation risks corrupting its progress.

Reacting to these facts, the Council indicated in a press release that it “categorically releases all responsibility concerning the information reported by certain press sources concerning elements of the file relating to the possible anticompetitive practices on the national market of hydrocarbons”.

Recall that the body headed by Driss Guerraoui, had previously indicated that it would hear all the stakeholders on July 21, including 9 of the largest distributors in the Moroccan market in addition to the Groupement des Pétroliers du Maroc (GPM).
