50,800 corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.
A comparison with the previous week results in a growth of 31 percent. This is the highest increase since the beginning of the summer wave at the beginning of June.
And it is twelfth working day in a row with an increase compared to the previous week.
Die autumn wave seems to be gaining momentum.
This can also be seen in the 7-day average of new cases, which, at plus 18 percent compared to the previous week, has increased more than it has since the end of June.
The number of active cases has also started to increase significantly.
Southern Germany seems to be a little more affected than the north – but what is also remarkable about the beginning of the autumn wave is that it apparently affects all regions even in the early stages.
The corona incidence is up again today in all 16 federal states to.
In a week-on-week comparison, 12 of the 16 are up.
After this Saarland (473) now also has Hesse (400.2) an incidence greater than 400. Rhineland-Palatinate (398) should follow shortly.
The width of the autumn wave is also evident at district level. At the beginning of September, 138 of the 412 German urban and rural districts still had an incidence of less than 200.
That number has more than halved, to 51.
On the other hand, the number of districts with an incidence of more than 500 has increased from 4 to 20.
93 Corona-Tote were reported to the RKI yesterday, 24 fewer than a week ago.
In total, we are at 435 deceased in the current week.
Every day we hear the new Corona case numbers. But what do they mean, where are we in the pandemic and what is the trend? Olaf Gersemann explains and evaluates the current figures briefly and concisely – every morning anew.
