The dollar rose against the pound in four banks between 4 piasters and 4 piasters by the end of Thursday trading, compared with morning, while the price settled in seven other banks.
Suez Canal Bank raised the price of the dollar to EGP 17.62 for buying and EGP 17.72 for sale, compared to EGP 17.60 for buying and EGP 17.70 for sale.
Bank of Alexandria also raised the price of the US currency to 17.60 pounds for purchase and 16.70 pounds for sale against 17.58 pounds for purchase, and 17.68 pounds for sale.
Al Baraka Bank of Egypt raised the price of the dollar by about 4 piasters, recording 17.625 pounds to buy, and 17.72 pounds for sale, compared to 17.58 pounds for purchase, and 17.68 pounds for sale.
ADIB raised the price of the dollar by 3 piasters to EGP 17.63 for buy and EGP 17.73 for sale, compared to EGP 17.60 for buy and EGP 17.70 for sale.
While the dollar exchange rate stabilized at Ahli Egypt, Egypt, International Commercial, Arab African, Cairo, Housing and Construction, and Credit Agricole at EGP 17.60 for buying and EGP 17.70 for sale.
The dollar rose by about two cents in a number of banks during yesterday's trading after a sudden fall in front of the pound on Sunday and Monday in banks, within the range of 27 piasters, for the first time in months, where Sunday recorded a daily decline is the largest in nearly two years.
