GREEN BAY – The NFL awarded the draft on Wednesday to Cleveland in 2021 and to Kansas City in 2023. A location for the design 2022 still has to be defined.
Las Vegas will host the design in 2020.
The Green Bay Packers have informed the NFL that they are interested in receiving the draft but have not made an official offer. The Packers could bid for 2022 (but they would have to do it this year), or they could shoot for 2024 or beyond. A decision on a bid for 2022 is expected soon.
According to The Packers, a new exhibition hall and the enhanced Titletown district are key components for the design direction.

The exhibit hall will replace Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and Shopko Hall. The demolition of this complex is scheduled to begin this week.

Titletown District is a 45-acre settlement immediately west of Lambeau Field. It includes a 10-hectare public park and a plaza with outdoor games and fitness activities. a winter rink and a tubing hill at Ariens Hill; the four-diamond hotel Lodge Kohler; Bellin Health Titletown Clinic for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics; Hinterland restaurant and brewery; and TitletownTech, a partnership with Microsoft that provides digital innovation and expertise to North-East Wisconsin through an Innovation Lab, Risk Studio and Risk Fund. The Titletown Tech building will also house a TopGolf restaurant.
This summer, construction begins on 70-90 townhouses on Brookwood Drive, a residential block of 150 residential units and an office building.
"We know that we'll have better parts in later years, and 2024 and beyond will give you better options as you think about the development of Titletown," said Aaron Popkey, Director of Public Affairs at Packers. "We know that this will be a key component of developing a campus to create a major floor space (for the design) and the city center will be a component."
The NFL said 600,000 people visited the draft in Nashville in April, far exceeding the previous record of 250,000 in 2017 in Philadelphia. With 47.5 million viewers on three days, it was the best rated and most watched draft of all time.
Brad Toll, President of the Greater Green Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau. said the 600,000 were over three days and counted a few participants twice or three times each day.
The NFL said a report compiled by VisitDallas found that the 2018 draft had an economic impact of $ 125.2 million on the Dallas area, including $ 74 million in direct spending.
A Packers game has an estimated economic impact of $ 15 million.
