On the night of March 21, policemen of the 4th Battalion of the Yerevan Patrol Service stopped a “Porsche” car for inspection. In order to check the driver’s sobriety, the patrols demanded his documents. The 43-year-old man refused and, approaching the patrol car, took out 3 bills of twenty thousand from his pocket and put them on the front seat. The patrols arrested him and took him to the Arabkir police department. The driver’s sobriety was checked. He was unconscious.
The circumstances of the case are clarified by the preliminary investigation.
One of the primary goals of introducing the patrol service was the exclusion of corruption risks. The patrols have repeatedly confirmed by their actions that they are loyal to that principle. We urge the drivers to strictly observe the traffic rules and not to show illegal behavior. All wrongdoings will be given an adequate legal assessment.
