The Egyptian pound continues its gains for the second day.. It rose to the top of a month against the dollar

For the second day in a row, the Egyptian pound recorded slight gains against the dollar in trading this morning, Thursday, as it rose by about 14 piasters from its value, to range the exchange rate between levels of 18.36 pounds for purchase, and 18.44 pounds for sale, a slight increase from the level of 18.35 pounds to the dollar recorded yesterday, Wednesday.

This is the highest level for the Egyptian pound since the tenth of April, when it recorded 18.30 pounds to the dollar.

Ahli United Bank offered the highest exchange rate for the dollar at 18.36 pounds for purchase, and 18.42 pounds for sale. While the dollar exchange rate in 5 banks, led by the Commercial International Bank and Banque du Caire, recorded a level of 18.35 pounds for purchase, and 18.42 pounds for sale.

In 5 banks led by the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr, the American note recorded a level of 18.34 pounds for purchase, and 18.40 pounds for sale. And in 16 banks led by the Bank of the International Arab Banking Company “SAIP” and the Mashreq Bank, the dollar exchange rate reached 18.32 pounds for purchase, and 18.42 pounds for sale.

While the exchange rate of the US currency at the Central Bank of Egypt reached 18.31 pounds for purchase, and 18.44 pounds for sale.

The average price of the euro at the Central Bank of Egypt fell to about 19.26 pounds for purchase, and 19.36 pounds for sale. While the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr recorded a level of 19.26 pounds for purchase, and 19.45 pounds for sale. The average price of the pound sterling at the Central Bank of Egypt fell to about 22.55 pounds for purchase, and 22.67 pounds for sale.

In the Arab world, the average price of the Saudi riyal, according to the Central Bank of Egypt website, fell to 4.88 pounds for purchase, and 4.91 pounds for sale.

The average price of the UAE dirham at the Central Bank of Egypt also decreased to about 4.98 pounds for purchase, and 5.01 pounds for sale. Also, the Kuwaiti dinar exchange rate fell to about 59.62 pounds for purchase, and 60.07 pounds for sale.

Data from the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed on Monday that consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities jumped to 13.1%, on an annual basis in April.

The value of the currency had fallen 14% on March 21, after about a year and a half with little change.
