European network Manunet, formed by governments of countries and regions, has just opened a new call for 12 million euros to finance R&D projects related to advanced manufacturing. This European network is led by the Basque Government and coordinated by the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque that, in order to facilitate the access of small and medium-sized companies in Euskadi to this financing, it will offer interested companies individualized advice in the processing of their applications. Any SME that plans to implement some innovation in the field of Industry 4.0 can now go to the Basque Agency of Innovation so that its technical staff can explain what steps to follow and help in its formalization. Until March 17, projects can be submitted, which must have the collaboration of companies, research centers or universities belonging to territories of the Manunet network.
Through the Manunet call, Basque companies are offered aid of up to 250,000 euros per year to develop engineering projects based on knowledge, information and communication technologies for manufacturing; manufacturing technologies for environmental and energy applications, including resource efficiency, recycling and circular economy; adaptive manufacturing technologies; new materials and composites for manufacturing; new methods, components and systems for manufacturing; additive manufacturing and other technologies or products related to the advanced manufacturing.
On this occasion, the Agency puts the focus on SMEs, sometimes reluctant to be interested for these programs for the previous preparation that they require (writing proposals, presentation of documentation, search for partners …), encouraging them both to know the real possibilities of obtaining these grants and accompanying them in the application process.
As it is an access to these grants, the projects presented by Basque SMEs must have the participation of other companies, universities and research centers in at least two of the nine countries or six regions integrated in the Manunet network:
Given the complexity of this search, Innobasque, which manages the secretariat of the call, will not only offer small and medium enterprises information about any aspect of it. In addition, it will provide SMEs with contact with their counterpart agencies in other countries and regions as well as tools for identifying most suitable partners to carry out each project.
The companies will have until March 17 to submit a short summary of your proposals of a project in collaboration with European companies, universities and research centers that you consider most appropriate to develop the project. In May it will be notified if they go to the shipping phase of the complete proposals, which must be submitted before June 16. Manunet will publish the final selection of proposals that obtain funding in October.
In previous calls, 283 projectsctos (111 of them presented by Basque companies) have obtained a total of 268 million of this initiative integrated in the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union.
