UEFA is considering moving the Euro 2020 final and semi-finals from London’s Wembley Stadium to the Hungarian capital Budapest. This is because 2.5 thousand viewers from among officials can force themselves to self-isolate in the UK.

Writes about this “NikSport” with reference to Gromadske.

UEFA does not like this quarantine. Therefore, the government of the country is now discussing the possibility of admitting VIPs without going through self-isolation due to fears of postponing matches. Officials include UEFA and FIFA officials, politicians and sponsors.

At the same time, the UK authorities have concerns that this will lead to an increase in the incidence of coronavirus and may provoke a negative reaction from the public, because ordinary travelers are forced to live with restrictions. Also, many Britons have refused to travel abroad due to quarantine.

England requires those who have arrived in the country from the “yellow” or “red” zone of epidemic danger to serve 10 days of self-isolation. Now all the countries participating in Euro 2020, according to the distribution of the UK government, are classified as “yellow”, and Turkey is “red”.

Wembley, which can accommodate 90,000 fans, will be 50% busy in the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020.

At the same time, Hungary allows its stadiums to be filled to full capacity. So, on June 15, the Budapest Puskas Arena was able to host 67 thousand fans at the match between Hungary and Portugal.
