Muscat: An expatriate who was seriously injured in a road accident in Oman was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The rescue operation was carried out with the help of the Royal Air Force. The accident took place in South Al Sharqia governorate. The expatriate, a native of Bangladesh, was seriously injured. He was first admitted to Masira Hospital and later transferred to Sur Hospital for specialist treatment. The help of the Royal Air Force was sought for this.

Massive drug bust in Oman; 158 kg of hashish and 2,300 intoxicating pills were seized
Muscat: Big drug hunt in Oman. 158 kg of hashish, 2,300 psychotropic pills and intoxicants including ganja and opium were seized. Royal Oman Police has arrested two persons in connection with this. They were caught by the Narcotics Control Unit and the Coast Guard Police. The Royal Oman Police has informed that legal proceedings against those arrested are being completed.

Another setback for expatriates in Bahrain; Indigenization of more than two hundred posts
Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Labor is set to expand indigenization to more job sectors. Labor Minister Dr. Banning foreigners in more than two hundred posts. Mahad bin Said Bauwin issued the order. No new visas will be issued to foreigners in these areas. The order was issued to reserve 207 posts for natives only.
Administrative Director, Public Relations Director/Manager, HR Director/Manager, Director of Relations and External Communications, Director/Manager of CEO Office, Employment Director/Manager, Follow-up Director/Manager, Security Supervisor, Director/Manager of Admission and Registration, Students Affairs Director/Manager, Career Guidance Director/Manager, Fuel Station Manager, General Manager, HR Specialist, Librarian, Executive Coordinator, Work Contract Regulator, Store Supervisor, Water Meter Reader, Travelers Services Officer, Travel Ticket Officer, Bus Driver/Taxi Indigenization was announced in the posts including car driver.
