The first comment from a member of the Council of Senior Scholars regarding invitations to open restaurants during the day in Ramadan • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Sulaiman, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, commented on the call of some to open restaurants during the day in Ramadan.

Al-Suleiman said during an interview with the “Al-Rased” program: Whoever calls for opening restaurants during the day in Ramadan does not respect the feelings of Muslims, and does not glorify God’s rituals.

And he continued: God Almighty said, “Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you.” For other nations, fasting has been prescribed for them, and therefore when you respect the feelings of the other, this is a kind of duty towards this person, whether for a Muslim or someone else.

And he added: If I go to another non-Muslim country, I must know their customs, as customs are strict, so it is not appropriate for me to go out in front of people in a way that might provoke the people of the country, so how can these people also ask to hurt the feelings of Muslims, especially since they are in a great ritual related to fasting.
