The former director of the Zénith de Caen is selling thousands of objects collected over half a century

In his Moulin de Saint Germain property, in Fresney-le-Puceux, Serge Langeois is organizing a rather unusual house sale this Saturday and Sunday afternoon. He puts on sale several thousand objects that he has hunted down or that have been offered to him by the stars of the song.

Half a century of memories that he cannot all take to his next apartment in Caen. “I like to collect, I like to keep things and not part with them. It’s been like that for fifty years and now it’s changing. There are very personal objects. There are also objects related to my career at the Zenith. It ranges from Coca-Cola cups to red-soled shoes signed by Lara Fabian, a sofa from the National Assembly…”, lists Serge Langeois.

There are these bathrobes autographed by Alain Delon or by Michel Sardou. There are also pieces that artists have given him and that he will let go with a little twinge in his heart, such as his gold, diamond or platinum discs by Calogéro, Véronique Sanson or even Marc Lavoine.

“We can’t always live with the past, notes Serge Langeois. We want, not to turn the page but to change the book. Rewrite another story from now on.”

All the difficulty is sometimes to put a price on it. It seems easy for CDs (one euro each), but it’s a bit more complicated for other objects.

“It’s haphazard luck. These are fixed prices but how to assess the price of Alain Delon’s bathrobe. Well, what we know is that a bathrobe like that is already worth 150 euros. So we’re going to sell it at least for that price.”
