Late last year, there was talk that the German company wanted to sell the property of one of the most expensive car brands. At the time, the Croatian brand Rimac was linked to the boutique’s new home, but nothing was officially confirmed by either company.
Porsche CEO and VW AG board member Oliver Bloom said in an interview with Automobilwoche that Bugatti’s future would be decided soon. Asked what it means very soon, he said it is likely to happen in the first half of this year.
Bloom said that Rimac could be an option for a new owner of Bugatti, but it is not yet specified what exactly will happen to the French brand. It is possible that the ownership will remain in the hands of VW AG and the brand will be further developed, but an option for its sale is not excluded.
