The Hemotherapy Institute continues with the blood donation campaign on La Palma

The Canary Islands Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, continues with its campaign in La Palma with the aim of facilitating blood donation for residents and visitors to the Island, indicated in a Press release.

Starting this Monday, March 13, the ICHH mobile unit will move to Avenida Dr. Fleming in Los Llanos de Aridane, where it will be operational from Monday to Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 9:45 a.m. at 1:00 p.m.

The ICHH reminds us that donating blood regularly throughout the year contributes to sustaining the health system. To donate you must be between 18 and 60 years old, weigh more than 50 kilos, be in good health and, in the case of women, not be pregnant.

Requirements to give

To donate blood you can go directly or you can request an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470 012 (option 8), from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the cover of the web effectdonacion.com.

Before going to donate, it is advisable to review the information published on this same web page in the Information and Protocol tab, to familiarize yourself with the established security measures and the self-assessment test.

The ICHH also recalls that people vaccinated against covid-19, both with one and two doses and the booster dose, can donate blood 48 hours after inoculation.
