As reported, a total of 26 people infected with the virus have been registered in Latvia so far.

Cases have been registered in all regions of Latvia, except Kurzeme and Vidzeme. The highest number of cases was registered in Riga and the capital region, but the lowest in Zemgale and Latgale regions.

Residents who have questions about “Covid-19” are invited to call the information line 67387661, which will work from 8.30 am to 5 pm this weekend. and on public holidays work around the clock, but on weekdays from 5 pm to 8 am.

People who have symptoms and who have been in Covid-19 affected areas can do the following.

If you apply in advance, go to the state-paid tests “E. Gulbis Laboratory” in Brīvības gatve 366. To apply for the transfer of analyzes, you must call 67801112 in advance. You cannot go to the transfer of analyzes without prior registration.

The Ministry states that the tests will be performed on people with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath who have visited one of the following countries in the last 14 days: the Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, USA, Greece, Iceland, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Iran or China. When returning from these areas, 113 should be called if symptoms of the disease have appeared – fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath.

Persons who do not meet the specified criteria will be provided with analyzes on a first-come, first-served basis and for a fee.

On Saturday in the “E. Gulbja laboratory” in Brīvības gatve 366 analyzes it will be possible to hand over the period from 12 to 18, and on Sunday from 8 to 16. Starting from Monday, working hours will be extended. The services promise to inform about the working hours for the submission of further analyzes in the near future.

At the same time, patients with mild symptoms have the opportunity to submit their tests for coronavirus disease “Covid-19” to the mobile point of the Latvian Center for Infectious Diseases (LIC) by arriving by car in advance by calling 113.

Patients with mild symptoms can only be referred to this mobile analysis point by the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) emergency telephone dispatcher. On the other hand, if the dispatcher finds out by phone that the patient’s symptoms are severe or that the patient does not have private transport to get to the mobile analysis point, an NMPD medical team or laboratory specialists will be sent home to take the test sample as before. .

To reduce the risk of Covid-19 spreading, the NMPD encourages the public not to go to the testing point without prior registration and without symptoms. Only patients with their own car are allowed to enter the territory for laboratory examinations – it is forbidden to come on foot, by public transport or by taxi.

The analysis transfer point LIC is located separately from the total patient flow in a separate medical tent. The mobile point is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will also be open on weekends. Going to this point, you must bring an identity document and take into account that the patient will be questioned about the symptoms and travel history before performing the tests.
