The Miami baseball team has yet to wait another day before figuring out where to play when they return to the NCAA baseball tournament. The hurricanes were not one of the 16 NCAA regional organizers announced on Sunday night.
The defeat by North Carolina at the ACC tournament on Friday afternoon probably cost the Miami baseball team a chance to host a regional side. The Hurricanes missed after three innings a 5-0 lead and fell in eleven innings with 7: 5 on the Tar Heels. North Carolina is one of the 16 teams to host a four-team regional team this coming weekend.
The appearance of the NCAA baseball tournament in Miami is the first since 2016. On the way to the College World Series, the Hurricanes were this season hosted regional and national tournaments. It was likely Miami had a regional tournament before the defeat on Friday, 2019. The Hurricanes occupy 17th place in the RPI, which takes part in the NCAA baseball tournament.
North Carolina is one of three ACC teams hosting a regional NCAA baseball tournament this coming weekend. Georgia Tech, Louisville and the Tar Heels will each welcome three teams in their home stadiums this week.
The loss to North Carolina was harmful. The Tar Heels won the ACC Championship this weekend. Miami has lost three of their four games against North Carolina this season. The Tar Heels won the last three games against the Hurricanes in 2019.

Miami played the opening game of its 3-game series at Chapel Hill in March. North Carolina won the last two games to win the three-game series. The Hurricanes finished a game in front of the Tar Heels in the ACC standings. Miami took fourth place in the ACC tournament and finished fifth at the Tar Heels.
Miami and North Carolina were very close this season. The Hurricanes will participate in the NCAA tournament with a 39-18 record. Miami finished 18-12 in the ACC. The Tar Heels are 42-17 overall and were 17-13 in the ACC. Louisville finished the regular season 43-13 and 21-9 at the ACC.
The official national seed was not disclosed. Baseball America expects Miami to be the second seed behind West Virginia in the Morgantown region. D1Baseball plans for Miami to be the second in 14th National Seed LSU in Baton Rouge.
The announcement of the entire 64-team NCAA baseball tournament will be posted on ESPNU on Monday at 11:00 CET. The NCAA baseball tournament will start on Friday, May 31, and continue until Monday, June 3 (if required).
