Last October the sensational Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition was presenteda special edition limited to 300 units that takes a sports saloon as its starting point, manufactured almost by hand at the Performance Manufacturing Center facilities that the premium Honda firm has in Ohio. Those are the same facilities where all Honda NSXs were built.
This special edition Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition was available in Curva Red, Long Beach Blue, and 130R White colors. So much so that only 100 units of each color were manufactured. Now the Japanese company adds another 50 units to this special edition, which receive a really special tone for the brandBecause these Acura TLX Type S PMCs will be finished in the exclusive Gotham Gray color that the now-defunct Honda NSX Type S received.

In addition to receiving this exclusive matte color, the 50 units of this Acura TLX Type S PMC will have 20-inch wheels also inspired by the ones used by that sensational hybrid sports car, in addition to being finished in Berlina Black and fitted with high-performance Pirelli P-Zero tyres. Precisely this last tone is also transferred to the door handles and the side skirts of this saloon.
On the outside of this new special edition limited to 50 pieces also we found a discreet carbon fiber rear spoiler, material with which the rear diffuser or the decorations in the door steps are also manufactured. Finishing off the play are the four black chrome exhaust tips or the ‘TLX’, ‘Type S’ and ‘SH-AWD’ emblems, also in gloss black.
An interior to match the exterior of this saloon
The interior of these Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition has also been revised for the occasion by adding carbon fiber interior trim, illuminated side sills or mats with the ‘Type S’ emblems. However, the Japanese company does not bet exclusively on the color black, because its seats are dressed in Milano Red leather, accompanied, yes, by the Ultrasuede fabric in black. A plate also arrives that identifies each of the 50 units that will be manufactured at the Performance Manufacturing Center.
Where there are no surprises compared to any other Acura TLX Type S is in its mechanics. Therefore We are talking about a 3.5 V6 i-VTEC Turbo heart that can provide 360 HP of power and 480 Nm of torque. All this is channeled into its four-wheel drive system through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Each of these Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition costs $65,000
Like all the vehicles of the Japanese house that have been born in the Performance Manufacturing Center, this latest special edition finished in Gotham Gray will also be hand-assembled and given the same treatment as all NSXs produced there. That means they’ll be tested before delivery, thoroughly checked for paint work, simulated road driving, and perfectly protected so there are no surprises on the way to the dealership.
Acura will start production of these Acura TLX Type S PMC next month, although the first units say they will be delivered starting in the spring. Although, it must be taken into account that each of the 50 copies manufactured has a starting price of $65,000 (60,595 euros)which is considerably higher than what a TLX Type S ‘dry’ costs, which starts at $55,550 (51,785 euros).
