The NBA puts its Chinese fans in shape by relying on fitness. The subsidiary of the North American basketball league in the Asian giant has signed an agreement with Les Mills, a company specialized in providing and designing classes for gyms, with which it will create fitness sessions based on basketball to stimulate sports practice in China.
Classes have been developed jointly by coaches from Les Mills and NBA FIT, the American Basketball League’s Fitness Promotion Initiative. Its objective is to develop the aerobic capacity of the players and their skills in basketball. Like other Les Mills fitness content, the classes will be available online and through gyms and basketball parks that the NBA operates in China.
What’s more, Sports centers and fitness clubs offering Les Mills classes will be able to add this content to their offering so that customers can access training programs developed with the NBA. The agreement is in line with the goals of the Chinese government’s sports strategy to encourage its citizens to stay fit and healthy.
