by archyw

Mission accomplished for the Nets, who won against the Cavaliers and therefore finished second in the Eastern Conference and will face a team out of the play-in between Boston and Washington. They win without worry 123-109 and finish with a record of 48-24.

They made their collective speak while James Harden was out. 7 players finish between 10 and 23 points with 23 points at 8/10 including 1/2 at 3-pts, 8 rebounds and 13 assists Kevin Durant, 17 points to 11, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks from Kyrie Irving. Mike James adds 14 points and Jeff Green 13. They shoot at 56.6% including a superb 16/30 from afar and even if Cleveland dominated the rebound they could not do anything, limited to 44.7%. Isaac Okoro (18 points at 6/16) and Dean Wade (18 points at 4/9 at 3-pts and 8 rebounds) finished best scorers of theirs while Collin Sexton only play 20 minutes for 16 points.

There was no game as the Nets led from start to finish by scoring the first 5 points and escaping very quickly in favor of a 12-0 in the first minutes in the wake of Kevin Durant. and Kyrie Irving to lead 17-4. They never looked back even if the second unit of Cleveland allowed theirs to hang on and oscillate to ten points in the second quarter. Leading 67-56 at the break, Steve Nash’s men stepped up in the 3rd quarter to escape definitively. Cleveland scored just 2 points in 5’30, which gave Brooklyn a fatal 15-2.
