Mercedes-Benz has announced that the world premiere of the second-generation GLC crossover will take place on the evening of June 1. This announcement is accompanied by a fresh teaser, in which a fragment of the car is shown without camouflage for the first time: the rear of the crossover is designed in the same style as the older GLE and GLS models.
We have already published preliminary information about the new GLC, and now no additional data has appeared. In short, the crossover will be 60 mm longer than the current model, the wheelbase will increase by 15 mm. The interior design of the new GLC will repeat the current C-class: instead of the center console, there will be a vertical 11.9-inch touchscreen “tablet”, virtual instruments are included in the basic equipment.
The main technical innovation is the fully controlled chassis. The optional air suspension will remain. All versions in the range will be electrified in one way or another: “soft” hybrids with a 48-volt starter-generator and full-fledged rechargeable hybrids with a traction electric motor are provided. Details coming soon!
