The OnePlus 6 will be waterproof! As this new teaser video, published by the OnePlus Twitter account in India, suggests, the successor to the OnePlus 5T can be used in the rain and will benefit from an IP protection rating. This is the first model of the Chinese manufacturer to be waterproof. At the same time, OnePlus started advertising in some cinemas!
During our complete test of the OnePlus 5 , we regret the absence of an IP standard that would ensure the protection of our smartphone against splashing or immersion. Same story when our test of the OnePlus 5T . So far, none of the OnePlus smartphones is waterproof but that will soon change with the release of the OnePlus 6, the brand’s first flagship flagship .
The OnePlus 6 will be waterproof, unlike the OnePlus 5T
“You hate having to stop using your smartphone when it’s raining? US too ” OnePlus tease on his Twitter account. The brand underscores his words with a short video of raindrops. The message is clear as water of rock: the OnePlus 6 will be equipped with an IP standard . For the time being, it is still unclear whether the smartphone will be splash-proof (IP 64), whether it can be emerged in water (IP 68) or whether it will be totally airtight (IP69). Rather, it is about a moderate IP certification: the teaser mentions rain and not a real flood.
In parallel with this new teaser, OnePlus has begun to broadcast video ads in Indian cinemas. Like a previous tweet posted by the builder, this ad focuses on device performance and promises to bring “The speed you need”. As a reminder, the OnePlus 6 is based on a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 8 or 6GB of RAM, and is equipped with 64/128 or 256GB of internal storage and a dual photo sensor 20 + 16 MP. The OnePus 6 is expected to be unveiled on May 5 at a conference in China.
