Farmers affected by the April 2022 frosts have heard their case and can now claim compensation for their losses.
This is news that makes us happy. From April 1 to 5, 2022, the frost greatly affected tree and wine production in the Gironde department. Recently, the National Committee for the Management of Risks in Agriculture (CNGRA) validated the requests for recognition of agricultural calamity, initiated by the farmers affected for their harvests of vines and fruits.
Deadline to submit your application: February 15, 2023
According to our colleagues from Sud Ouest, this compensation concerns crop losses on fruit trees (peaches, nectarines, Ente plums), pome fruits (apples, kiwis), nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts), as well as young vine plantations throughout the department.
Farmers and winegrowers in Gironde have until February 15, 2023 to file their claim for compensation.
