After a blank year in 2020 and the cancellation of the spring performance last May due to confinement, the Amis de l’Orgue Aubertin de Vertus want to bounce back with an event concert this Saturday, July 3. It will be hosted by Frédéric Lamantia on keyboards and Michel Visse on drums with the theme “The organ sings Johnny”. This will be a second performance at Vertus for the organist who has already led an evocation to Jacques Brel. Frédéric Lamantia holds the organ of the Grand Temple de Lyon, he is also organist at the town hall of Villeurbanne and passionate about different musical styles. As for Michel Visse, he is well known in the city of Reims for being born there. He obtained two first prizes for trumpet and percussion. He is also honorary percussionist with the National Orchestra of Lyon. This concert will have to be an explosion of musical colors with key titles: The penitentiary, Marie, and many other titles which will be mixed with those of the repertoire of Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and taken again at the time for some by Johnny Hallyday him -even. The spectator should find the original arrangements of the singer but also discover brilliant transpositions adapted to these two instruments which are the organ and the drums. There is no doubt that the admirers of the late singer will be delighted by this duo which will be followed by a video return projected on the big screen. For the president of the Friends of the Organ of Vertus, Jean-Marie Régnier: “ It is a tribute to French song and in particular to one of the greatest singers who died recently, Johnny Hallyday. This is the first time in France that an Aubertin organ will perform this repertoire, a way of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the organ in Saint Martin’s Church. ».
