The prevalence of Covid-19 is growing in all Baltic countries – in the world

Recently, an increase in the total incidence of Covid-19 has been observed in all Baltic countries, stressed Yuri Perevoshchikov, director of the Department of Infectious Disease Risk Analysis and Prevention at the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

However, the current data show that the incidence of Covid-19 in Latvia is twice lower than in Lithuania and Estonia, the epidemiologist reported.

Meanwhile, there is an increase in morbidity across Europe as a whole, with 70,000 cases registered in the last seven days. Comparing these data with the previous seven days, there is an increase of 22%.

According to the epidemiologist, the international data look a little more optimistic – the trend of increasing the incidence is not continuing – it has stopped to some extent.

Covid-19 infection was reportedly confirmed in 24 people in Lithuania last day, the Ministry of Health of the neighboring country said on Thursday.

Thus, in Lithuania, infection with this virus was detected in a total of 2171 people, while 1656 people were confirmed to recover.

Meanwhile, 11 people were diagnosed with the new coronavirus in Estonia last day, according to data compiled by the Estonian Department of Health. As a result, the number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 2,124.
