The Governor of the Pskov Region, Mikhail Vedernikov, appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to provide assistance to the region with medical personnel and equipment. He reported this on Instagram.

“The load on our doctors is increasing every day, and given the region’s lack of medical personnel, this becomes an objective and serious risk,” the governor wrote. Vedernikov added that an anti-record was recorded in the region in the number of new cases of coronavirus disease – 41 new cases per day.

According to him, the Pskov region needs additional help from medical specialists, as well as medical equipment.

Moreover, according to the latest data from the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, in the Pskov region over the past day, 21 new cases of infection with coronavirus were recorded.

In total, 629 cases of the virus were detected in the region. 268 people recovered. Ten people died.

At the same time, the regional operational headquarters reports 43 new cases per day (according to data for May 26) and a total of 670 cases of the disease.
