“The results are catastrophic” (Namur)

“I understand that it is politically difficult to withdraw it in the midst of a crisis, but we are faced with an ineffective tool in terms of public health management”

“We can clearly bury the Covid Safe Ticket (CST) in its official objective of limiting contamination. Given the figures since the beginning of this month, we can say that the results are catastrophic,” said regional deputy Ecolo Laurent Heyvaert, Tuesday in the Health Committee of the Parliament of Wallonia.

“I understand that it is politically difficult to withdraw it in the midst of a crisis, but we are facing an ineffective tool in terms of public health management,” he added on the sidelines of parliamentary questions addressed to the regional minister of Health, Christie Morreale.

“Since the start of the school year, we have been giving a bad response to the crisis. This weekend, in the media, I would have preferred that the ministers explain their battle plan to administer the 3rd dose to the over 40s – where it is most useful – rather than continuing to divide society, because we need everyone to deal with this crisis, “he continued.

The CST entered into force on November 1 in Wallonia, after having been approved by the PS-MR-Ecolo majority.
