The sale of housing in the counties of Girona fell 7.4%, with 847 homes sold before 915 of April 2018. Of the total, 140 were new (-25.1%) and 707 second hand (-2.9%), while 815 were free (-7.1%) and 32 were protected (-15.8%).
The sale of housing in Catalonia fell by 5.4% in April compared to the same month last year, and chained three months of declines, according to the provisional data of the INE.
Thus, during this month 6.294 operations were done, of which 5,728 corresponded to free housing and 566 protected areas, while 944 were new and 5,350 were second hand. A
The whole of the State, the purchase and sale of housing also suffered a decline in April compared to the same month in 2018, specifically of 3.1%. In total, 41,049 apartments were sold, of which 36,644 were free and 4,405 were protected, while 7,681 were new and 33,368 were used.
The communities with the highest increases were Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha, with 30.2% and 7%, respectively, and the largest declines occurred in the Balearic Islands (-14.1%) and the Community of Madrid (-13.8%).
Since the beginning of the year, the sale of homes has added three consecutive decreases. Although the year began with 7,890 homes sold -903 more than in December-, in February they fell to 6,987, in March until 6,904 and now in April to 6,294.
By provinces, in the counties of Barcelona housing sales fell 5.9%, up to 4,334 operations, of which 686 belonged to new homes (+ 9.1%) and 3,648 second hand ( -8.2%), while 3,863 were free (-4.8%) and 471 protected (-14.2%).
In the counties of Lleida, the fall in the purchase and sale of housing was accentuated to 10.64%. In contrast, in the counties of Tarragona, housing sales rose by 1% in April compared to the same month last year.
