Cristiano Ronaldo was the subject of a viral video during Portugal’s victory against Ghana (3-2) this Thursday at the 2022 World Cup. The Portuguese striker was seen taking food out of his shorts before eat it.
The first player to score in his five appearances at the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo launched Portugal to a capital success this Thursday against Ghana (3-2). Scorer from the penalty spot, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner then involuntarily went “viral” when a camera caught him taking a product (or food) out of his shorts and eating it a few minutes from half-time.
Unsurprisingly, this video caused a lot of reaction on social networks between jokes (sometimes in questionable taste), doping accusations launched without real conviction and supporters who took it at face value. Doubts about the product ingested by CR7 made people smile.

A simple dietary supplement according to the Portuguese press
If the sequence is surprising, Cristiano Ronaldo’s gesture could ultimately be quite innocuous. Aged 37 and absent from the field since November 6, the Portuguese striker would simply have needed a little boost according to the newspaper Brand and several Portuguese media.
Cristiano Ronaldo would thus simply have consumed a food or energy supplement. A rather classic food for athletes who usually wait to be on the edge of the field to recover it. This should therefore answer the question of the Portuguese star’s mystery food. What we still do not know is if CR7 had a pocket inside his shorts, or not, to keep it. After this inaugural victory, Portugal will face Uruguay and South Korea in Group H of the 2022 World Cup.
