The Strategy of Bandung Damri Employees Embezzled Rp 1.2 Billion Company Money


The Bandung District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) is investigating allegations of embezzlement of funds from the Bandung branch of the DAMRI company of around Rp 1.2 billion. One employee who has become a suspect is suspected of committing corruption in the management of the company’s revenue money (UPP).

The embezzlement was carried out by an employee with the initials SS. He embezzled UPP from 2016 to 2018 at the Bandung branch of Perum DAMRI.

“There was an allegation of the management of the company’s revenue (UPP) pool I Kebon Kawung which was not deposited into the company’s treasury,” said Head of Special Investigations Unit at the Bandung Attorney’s Office, Taufik Effendy when confirmed, Friday (10/29/2021).

Taufik explained that in this case, SS was given the authority to collect money from passenger tickets. However, he said, the money from the ticket was not deposited into the company’s treasury.

There are two revenue segments for the Bandung branch of UPP DAMRI in pool I, Kebon Kawung, namely agglomeration or economic tariffs which cost around Rp. 5,000 and BRT (AC) which is normally priced according to the distance to be traveled.

“From 2016 to 2018 there were several UPPs that were not deposited into the Bandung branch of DAMRI cash, which was acknowledged by SS,” he said.

Previously, Public Company (Perum) DAMRI was in the spotlight after stopping eight routes in Bandung. But on the other hand, it turns out that there are allegations of corruption in the embezzlement of billions of rupiah from the company’s money by one of its employees, which is now being handled by the Bandung District Attorney (Kejari).

In the case being handled, the Bandung Kejari investigator has named a suspect with the initials SS, who is an employee at the Bandung branch of Perum DAMRI.

The determination of this suspect is in accordance with the number PRINT-1291/M.2.10/Fd.1/04/2020 dated 14-4-2020 jo. Print-3695/M.2.10/08/2021 dated 23-08-2021.
