Today, Tuesday, the United Arab Emirates and Israel discussed enhancing cooperation in the security and police fields, according to the Emirates News Agency, WAM.

According to the agency, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the United Arab Emirates, met with the Israeli Minister of Interior, Ayelet Shaked, who started a visit to Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest, especially in the security and police fields, and ways to enhance them between the two sides, according to the UAE Agency.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan posted a tweet on his Twitter account, expressing his happiness at meeting the Israeli minister.

He said, “I was pleased to meet His Excellency Ayelet Shaked, Minister of Interior of the State of Israel, and during the meeting we reviewed the prospects for joint cooperation and ways to enhance them, in order to achieve the aspirations and directions of the leaderships of the two countries, in supporting the security and stability of the region for the good of the peoples of the two countries and the region.”

Today, Tuesday, the Israeli minister announced that “the agreement to cancel the travel visa between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi will enter into force, starting next Sunday, October 10.”

It is noteworthy that Israel and the UAE signed, in mid-September, a historic peace agreement between the two countries, followed by Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.
