Libya News 24

Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the unity government condemned the storming of the Libyan embassy building in Khartoum and the looting of its contents.

The ministry stressed, in a statement, that this matter is a violation of the Vienna Agreement on Diplomatic Relations and all laws and customs regulating diplomatic work between countries, which stipulate the need to provide protection for embassies and diplomatic missions.

The ministry said, “At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deep regret and indignation at such actions, and calls on the warring parties in Sudan to renounce violence and fighting and to show a sense of responsibility for the unity of brotherly Sudan, and to protect diplomatic missions and their headquarters.”

The ministry affirmed its keenness on the stability of Sudan and its people, giving priority to the supreme interest over everything else, and resolving problems and differences through dialogue and peaceful means.

She said that the State of Libya renews its condemnation of the repeated attacks on the headquarters of some diplomatic missions of a number of countries in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and shares these countries’ rejection of the continuation of these actions, which further complicate the situation in Sudan and threaten its security and safety.
