The Vice President: Kiril Petkov would have lifted the veto for RSM without conditions, but he was not allowed to

“We will notify the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe because the latest reports that came out from there were quite unflattering for the country. People with Bulgarian self-awareness are subjected to very severe tests and discrimination. Bulgaria will keep an eye on the behavior of the Macedonian authorities for deepening the language of hatred and all European institutions will be notified in a timely manner.”

This is what the vice president said Iliana Yotova before BNT in connection with the beating of the secretary of the Bulgarian club “Tsar Boris III” in Ohrid Hristiyan Pendikov.

She believes that Bulgaria must respond with all means both in relation to our European partners and bilaterally.

In connection with the relations between our country and the Republic of North Macedonia, Yotova stated: “If it depended on Kiril Petkov, as early as January without any conditions from the Bulgarian side, he would have lifted the veto, but thank God he was not allowed to.”

The vice president also commented on the political situation in the country. “The fact that the political parties could not form a government is not the fault of the presidential institution,” she emphasized. According to Yotova the country needs a change of model, who ruled for 12 years. “We continue to be on the side of the people who were on the street. Change is a process, a political force cannot appropriate the word change,” she believes.

“At the last leadership meeting on Friday between the leaders of BSP, GERB, DPS and “Bulgarian Rise” they could have done so that the official cabinet would already be in history,” Yotova also said.

Regarding the date of the upcoming early parliamentary elections, she pointed out: “I don’t know if the date will be April 2, the president will decide. The pre-election campaign has not stopped since the date of the previous elections. We had no hesitation regarding Galab Donev.”

In connection with allegations of a ready-made political project from the presidency, she stated that there are obviously circles in Bulgaria that are afraid of Rumen Radev’s high rating. “In our conversations during all these years, there was no question of making a political project”she added.

Iliana Yotova also commented on the article in Die Welt, which claims that already last spring, when the country was governed by the coalition government led by Kiril Petkov, Bulgaria exported fuel and ammunition to Ukraine. “With this scandal, which we can safely call “Die Weltgate”, it does not contribute to the good image of our country abroad”, she pointed out. The vice president also said that this publication was of an explosive nature.
