The video of the crossroads at 240 km / h shows why Tesla’s sci-fi steering wheel is not a good idea

Do you like the original “cut” Tesla steering wheel? This futuristic solution may be pleasing to the eye, but in practice it can be quite dangerous.

The creators of the Speed Academy YouTube channel, with whose permission we publish the video, know this. They on the racing circuit stretched the Tesla Model S Plaid, a racket with an output of 1000 horsepower, accelerating from rest to a hundred in 2.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 322 km / h. And also the sci-fi steering wheel, which instead of the traditional solution resembles visions from futuristic films.

During testing, a crisis situation occurred when a “strange brake failure” occurred at the end of the finish line at a speed of over 240 km / h. Although Sasha’s driver is very experienced and remains icy calm throughout the incident, the video shows how much trouble Tesla’s correction is causing him, while the non-traditional steering wheel has the lion’s share.

The dangerous situation was repeated twice and the creators are certainly happy that at the end of the finish line of the route there are no barriers, but only a huge grassy area. Fortunately, everything turned out well and nothing happened to anyone. In the complete video below, you can take a closer look at both incidents and listen to the final analysis, which describes exactly what happened during the ride.
