A gigantic aircraft with the longest span in the world landed after its first flight.
The twin-hull Stratolaunch jet landed two hours after the launch of Mojave Air and Space Port in California.
The company said the jet had reached heights of up to 17,000 feet over the Mojave Desert, while rating performance and handling qualities.
CEO Jean Floyd said the plane had made a "spectacular" landing, adding that it was amazing to see "watching this majestic bird fly".
Stratolaunch was launched by the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Mr. Allen died in October 2018.
The aircraft is designed to launch rockets in the center of its massive wing, which extends 385 meters from tip to tip.
