iPhone 13: the new 2021 iPhone
This year all eyes are on the iPhone 13. It is a relatively small upgrade compared to the iPhone 12. So the design remains about the same. However, there are new colors and there is a 120 Hz ProMotion screen on the more expensive models for smoother animations.
Inside, there is a new A15 chip that surpasses the already fast A14 chip. Together with new camera sensors, this delivers the best possible photos you can take with the iPhone. Especially during filming and with more jerky movements, the camera should make the difference. As with the iPhone 12 series, the 2021 iPhone is also available in four variants: one small, two normal and one large.
The iPhone 13 lineup looks like this:
In terms of colors, the iPhone 13 mini and the regular iPhone 13 come in five different colors: pink, blue, midnight, starlight (off white). The Pro series will have calmer colors and a more luxurious appearance: Sierra Blue, silver, gold and graphite. You can also feel that in the material. The Pro line has a stainless steel edge while the regular iPhones have to make do with aluminum. The models will be available from September 24, 2021.

iPhone 12 series: now the latest iPhone
With the introduction of the iPhone 13 series, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The other iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are still available and also reduced in price.
Although the iPhone 12 Pro models are no longer available from Apple, you can still go to other retailers that still offer the model.
The iPhone 12 (mini) is still a good choice. All sizes have a Super Retina XDR screen with OLED technology. These models have been given a new design and we expect Apple to continue with that for a while. Inside, these models are also not wrong with their A14 processor. This chip ensures lightning-fast performance and beautiful photos. The improved camera also helps, of course.
Speaking of cameras: there are differences in the iPhone 12 series. If you just want a camera for a photo here and there, choose the iPhone 12 (mini). For more serious work, the iPhone 12 Pro (Max) is your friend. In addition to the standard ultra-wide-angle lens and wide-angle lens, this also has a telephoto lens. In addition, the Pro series has support for Apple ProRAW for RAW photos.

iPhone SE 2020 (4,7-inch)
The iPhone SE 2020 is the most affordable iPhone of the entire 2021 lineup and will remain so for months to come. There are rumors that Apple is working on a larger model, called the iPhone SE Plus. It will probably not appear until 2022 and will have a larger 6.1-inch screen. Nothing has been officially announced at this point. Apple doesn’t renew SE models every year, so we may have to wait another four years. Until then, the most recent SE is a great choice for anyone who doesn’t want to pay too much.
The iPhone SE 2020 has a familiar design with a home button. As a result, the screen edges are also a lot wider, at both the top and the bottom. The second-generation iPhone SE still has Touch ID and a single camera with portrait mode support. This is a great device for people who don’t want to spend too much money and want to use their device for a long time. Internally, this iPhone is completely up-to-date and will receive updates for many years to come. Also read our review of the iPhone SE 2020. The suggested retail price of the iPhone SE 2020 is €492.10.

iPhone 11 (6,1-inch)
The iPhone 11 is the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone from 2019. This model is slightly larger than the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 (Pro) and the upcoming iPhone 13 (Pro) due to the slightly wider screen edges and the rounded design. . In addition, this model has an LCD screen, which gives a different viewing experience than the OLED display in newer devices.
The iPhone 11 has a dual camera with wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens. This model is suitable for night mode, portrait mode and other camera functions, but they are not all as good as in the iPhone 12 and 13. The lens to zoom in further is also missing. You can choose from six colors, including green, yellow, red and purple. Also read our review of the iPhone 11. The suggested retail price for the iPhone 11 is now €589.
