Threatened with death, the first deputy mayor of Bobigny, substitute for Raquel Garrido in the legislative elections, files a complaint

Who wants José Moury, the first deputy mayor of Bobigny? Campaigning for the legislative elections as a substitute for Raquel Garrido (LFI / Nupes) in the 5th district of Seine-Saint-Denis, the elected official was the victim this Saturday of intimidation and death threats while he was towing at the farm market. It was the communist municipality that made this attack public in a press release published on Tuesday.

José Moury, also vice-president of the Est Ensemble territory, found himself confronted by three masked individuals. “They arrived at a time when I was somewhat isolated from the other activists, telling me: You have nothing to do there, leave “, he testifies. He could not identify his attackers.

On the other hand, he says he politely introduced himself: “I told them: Hello, José Moury, first deputy mayor of Bobigny », he says. A few moments later, one of his three assailants then allegedly snatched the leaflets he had in his hands, saying to him: ” Either way, we’re going to kill you! A complaint was immediately filed at the police station.

“Looks like we’re bothering”

The elected official for town planning and inter-municipal relations claims to have remained calm in the face of this “pressure blow” which occurred in the middle of the electoral campaign: “Unfortunately, I now have some experience of Bobigny and what saddens me the most, it is that these three people have obviously been sent on some sort of mission to threaten me. They were not really very comfortable in this role that they were assigned. I don’t even know how much they were paid for it. Maybe 20 euros…”

“I express my strongest condemnation of these facts and hope that the culprits are identified, communicated for his part Abdel Sadi (PCF), the mayor of the commune. It is unacceptable that an elected representative of the Republic can be the victim of such actions. This act is serious and I am determined not to give in to this kind of method. »

Jean-Christophe Lagarde (UDI), outgoing MP for the constituency and candidate for his succession, agreed with Abdel Sadi. “The mayor of Bobigny is 100% right, he wrote in stride on Twitter. Pressure, threats or violence against an elected representative of the Republic are inadmissible and must be strongly condemned. I had signed a bill N3445 to this effect. Total solidarity with the mayor and his first deputy. »

Raquel Garrido, who is trying with José Moury to conquer this constituency held since 2002 by the boss of the UDI, also reacted on the same social network, a few hours later. “It looks like we are disturbing, believes the media lawyer. We will not give in. Bandits who seek to intimidate us and disgust the people with politics will not succeed. »
