Météo-France has placed Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales on orange vigilance until 6 a.m. this Friday due to the risk of snow and ice. The meteorological agency also warned of moderate snowfalls giving a layer of one to three centimeters in the plain, and five to ten centimeters above 500 meters.
The orange vigilance also affects the Landes department, due to the risk of flooding. Thursday, eight departments were under increased observation for snow-ice phenomena – Hérault, Pyrénées-Orientales, Aude, Tarn, Aveyron, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot and Dordogne – while only the Landes department was affected by potential floods. The orange vigilance in the Hérault department ended at 3 o’clock.
