Three were taken to hospital after heavy turbulence in flight

Several passengers were injured when Seattle's turmoil in the state of California hit a Seattle-bound flight that forced an emergency landing on Wednesday in Reno, Nevada.

Seattle-based passenger Joe Justice filmed the episodes aboard the Delta Flight 5763. The video shows how a refreshment van is tipped over and food is scattered on the ground.

"Crazy turbulence and injury, but the @delta crew handled the emergency landing perfectly," wrote Justice on Twitter.

"We made a dive twice," he added.

Passenger Dave Macias wrote after the flight on Instagram: "I've done a lot of flights over the past year and a half, and this was by far the wildest flight I've ever been to."

"Thank you @delta and @ # renoairport for the best of a terrible situation and for getting underway as soon as possible."

According to Reno-Tahoe International Airport spokesman Brian Kulpin, three of the injured passengers were taken to hospital and their condition was not immediately known.
