After the outstanding success of our centenary season, this year, in addition to our audience-favorite performances, we present our viewers with two large-scale new shows and festive gala concerts.
We open the season with a real curiosity, the Hungarian operetta of the century, which Magician of the Orpheum under the title Károly Somossy elaborates his life fit for a novel.
In the spring, we will add a new major musical special to our repertoire, the work of Frank Wildhorn, the composer of the highly successful Jekyll and Hyde, which has never been performed in Hungary. Carmen will be presented.
In the 2023/24 season, we have retained our pass structures created last year, so you can choose from the already well-known passes:
Premier+ Pass
New at first hand! In addition to the two new shows of the season, the operetta The Magician of the Orfeum and the musical Carmen, you can also see the returning nine-nine musical, reminiscent of the world of Fellini films, as well as a large-scale gala concert from the works of Imre Kálmán, entitled Dream, dream, sweet dream.
The performances start at 19:00 on Sunday.
János Sárdy Pass
The Queen of Czardás is a real audience favorite grand operetta, which is complemented by our new presentation, The Magician of the Orpheum and the gala concert Dream, dream, sweet dream in the János Sárdy Pass. You can watch the performances on weekdays from 18:00!
Romance Pass
If you would like a real relaxation on weekday evenings, our Romance Pass proves to be an excellent choice, in which, in addition to the Spanish melodies of the Knight of La Mancha and Carmen, you will be enchanted by the magician of the Orfeum.
Károly Somossy Pass
Károly Somossy really knew how to have fun! What else could have been included in the compilation bearing his name, if not the true Hungarian music, full of Hungarian melodies, written by Hungarian composers. Magician of the Orpheum c. our new operetta presentation deals with the life of Somossy, which fits the novel, and in addition, Imre Kálmán’s Queen of Tsárdás and the gala concert Álom, álom, séd álom, summarizing his life’s work, await you.
Youth Pass
The Youth Pass offers the cream of the musical theater genre to young people – and those with a student ID. In addition to the musical The Count of Monte Cristo and the operetta The First Lieutenant Mária, one of our new shows, the operetta The Magician of the Orfeum, which deals with the life of Károly Somossy, also took place.
Latabár Kálmán Pass
Make time for fun on the weekend!
The Latabár pass invites you to three real classical performances (Miska Magnás, Fiddler on the Roof, Nutcracker – ballet), which start at a convenient time in the morning, at 11 a.m. End the week with a pleasant relaxation at the Budapest Operetta Theater!
Fates Pass
Large-scale performances in which the main character’s fate is often controlled by his surroundings and the influences on him. Take part in this exciting adventure yourself, accompany film director Guido Contini (Nine-Nine musical), the knight of La Mancha, or the brave János on the extraordinary journey. The performances can be viewed on Sundays from 19:00.
Jávor Pál Pass
Who wouldn’t want to relax with an unforgettable theater experience after a tiring day at work…?! Or with three? Magician of the Orpheum c. in addition to a new show and the Queen of Csárdás, an old-new favorite, the musical Nine-Kilenc, awaits you if you buy a Jávor Pál season ticket.
A Róbert Rátonyi Pass, Kamill Feleki Pass is in Honthy Hanna Pass with a pensioner’s card – which must be presented at the time of purchase – can be purchased by our spectators for the performances of, among others, the Queen of Czardás, János vítéz, Nine-Kilenc musical, The Land of Smiles, Miska Mágnás, and Mária the First Lieutenant. Performances start at 5 or 6 p.m. on weekdays.
