The TOTY will be included in the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team (FUT) packs on Friday (January 20th), but it appears that the selection has already been leaked – including the Bundesliga star Jude Bellingham. Announcement on Thursday at 5 p.m. and release on Friday at 7 p.m. – that is the plan of EA SPORTS for the TOTY in FUT 23. As is often the case, the community seems to have pre-empted the developer. According to matching leaks, the TOTY is already set, with various large accounts such as ‘Donk’ already presenting the eleven on Wednesday (18.01.).
The goalkeeper, on the other hand, is no surprise: Thibaut Courtois from Spanish champions and Champions League winners Real Madrid is said to have prevailed. The defense is likely to be discussed a little more controversially, Virgil van Dijk in particular did not have all the experts on the bill due to his weak first half of the season at the troubled Liverpool FC. The back four are to be completed by Real central defender Eder Militao as well as Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) and Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain) on the outside. In addition to their performances in the club, the latter two were also able to score points at the World Cup in Qatar.
In midfield, Bellingham will be supported by two world-class players: Luka Modric (Real Madrid) and Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City). While the Croatian was successful both at club and national level, the Belgian suffered a bitter disappointment, at least at the World Cup. The showpiece of the TOTY in FUT 23 will probably be the attack, which seems almost without alternative: Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé are not only teammates at PSG, they also dominated the world championship. Karim Benzema is Champions League winner and Ballon d’Or winner 2022 – no further questions.
In addition to the actual TOTY-Elf, a 12th man is traditionally chosen, with hot contenders being Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) or Erling Haaland (Manchester City). EA SPORTS had also awarded Honorable Mentions cards in the course of the TOTY in the past offshoots, so there are still some chances for special objects. Meanwhile, an integration of Cristiano Ronaldo, Manuel Neuer and David Alaba is extremely unlikely: The three big names had not even been nominated for voting for TOTY in FUT 23 – which brought the developer some criticism, at least in the case of the premier class winner Alaba.
The TOTY leak has caused a stir in the FIFA community, with many fans speculating on the inclusion of Jude Bellingham and the potential ‘Traumsturm’ of Messi, Mbappé and Benzema.
