Toyota introduced the Land Cruiser in the Matt Black edition, the technology does not change

Toyota has prepared a new Matt Black edition for its Land Cruiser model. The modifications are primarily of a cosmetic nature. We will see news at the end of this year.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the long-standing models that we have known across generations for decades and we have seen them in a number of different editions. The latest one is the Matt Black Edition and focuses mainly on visual modifications. Anyone who would expect black matte body paint based on the name is wrong. Or at least partially.

Only the design of the exterior details is matte black. Specifically, we are talking about the edging of the front mask and its vertical ribs, the upper decors of the headlights and the frames around the fog lights. But the list does not end there. In Toyota, they also paint the side sills, roof rails, exterior mirror covers, decor above the license plate on the rear and 18″ alloy wheels in matte black.

Inside, you can tell the Matt Black edition by the new leather seat upholstery. It is available in two variants, both of which are based on a black seat and backrest. The difference is in the color of the sides, which are gray in one version and brown in the other. For the brown color, Toyota needs to inform us that it is the shade of a horse’s saddle.

However, the availability of individual elements depends on the specific equipment line with which the Land Cruiser Matt Black Edition will be connected. The range of equipment and their combination with the new edition may differ depending on the market. In the Czech Republic, the Matt Black Edition will be offered as part of the Executive trim level. Toyota has not yet announced the price of the edition, but you will pay at least CZK 1,850,000 for the basic Land Cruiser Executive on our market.

Technically, there have been no modifications, which means that under the front hood is a turbocharged diesel four-cylinder 2.8 D-4D with an output of 150 kW (204 hp) and a torque of 500 Nm. The unit cooperates with a six-speed automatic transmission and, of course, all four wheels are driven. Toyota Land Cruiser Matt Black Edition is scheduled to go on sale in European markets in the last quarter of this year.
