Tragic, Woman Raped on Commuter Train, Passengers Are Silent

PRFMNEWS – Truly tragic and horrific, a woman was raped in a commuter train on the outskirts of Philadelphia, United States (US).

According to the police statement, surprisingly, the rape took place in front of a number of other train passengers, but they did not take any action to help the victim.

According to an Associated Press News report that aired on October 16, 2021, Inspector Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department said that police were called to 69th Street station on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 10pm local time.

There have been reports of sexual assault on a train traveling on the Market-Frankford Line.

The call came from an employee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) who was in the vicinity of the train.

The SEPTA employee contacted police to report that ‘something was wrong’ with a female passenger on the train.

SEPTA Police personnel (specially in charge of the mass transit system in Pennsylvania) waited at the next station and found a woman who had been raped.
